After coming off a 14-3 season, girls soccer returns with high expectations. The past three seasons have resulted in Conference Championships, and this year looks to be no exception.
“Our main goal for the team is definitely to win conference and regionals again, hopefully win sectionals,” senior player Raina Schmitt said.
This mentality sure has worked well for the Eagles with them advancing further into playoffs seemingly every year.
“Making it further in playoffs to really prove our talent and teamwork [is the goal],” senior Anya Silber said.
Outside of these team goals, Schmitt is also on her own exciting mission.
“I hope to break the record for most goals in a high school career for girls,” Schmitt said.
Despite growing expectations and personal goals, Silber and Schmitt are still focused on what made them love soccer.
“I just want to have fun and make memories,” Silber said.
Overall, Lakes girls soccer is poised for another successful season, and hopefully they can make a couple new memories along the way.
