This year, Lakes Lacrosse is looking to have one of their best seasons since the start of the program. Last year, Lakes split the conference with Grant and Grayslake, but their team was still young, with many juniors and sophomores.
This year, as all the players have developed a stronger chemistry playing together, the team anticipates winning the conference outright and, hopefully, dominating in all their conference games. Seven of the ten main rotational players on the team are all seniors, including Nick Waterman, Kellen Hardy, Brayden Rank, Feliciano Qattawi, Owen Bennett, Lucas Smart, and Owen Smart. Even with all of these seniors, two of the team captains are younger players, Sophomore attackmen Myles Muzones and Junior attackmen Tristan Lotko.
“I have been playing with a lot of these guys since I was young, and the chemistry in the offense has really grown over the years,” Muzones said. “We trust each other, move the ball well, and know how to play together, which gives us a lot of confidence going into this season.”
The team’s season is looking very promising, and they are excited to see what they accomplish.
