Julies Perez is a first year varsity player as a sophomore. Just last weekend he broke the Freshman-Sophomore record for triple jump, landing at third place at conference. He’s soon to be a rising star for conference long jump and triple jump.
“[I believe] that I am going to do great and keep breaking PRs,” Perez said.
While Perez already has individual confidence, he also has immense belief in his teammates.
“We will win conference because we have a good amount of amazing athletes,” Perez said.
Even though he already has improvement from last season, he still has the things that he wants to do better on. The leap from JV to Varsity is already pushing him forward.
“I am hoping to fix my form and travel around more for my athletics,” Perez said. “The difference between someone that is on JV and Varsity is the consistency. If you are consistent and keep working on your craft, you’ll become good at what you do.”
As Perez reaches new heights, he believes him and his team are going to improve and excel at this year’s track season.
