2018-2019 Royal Rush Leaders

With the school year rapidly coming to a close, it is time for the annual “passing of the flags” as our school’s new royal rush leaders are announced. About 20 students submitted an application by writing an essay and being deliberated by Mr. Ring and the previous leaders. After a long and hard decision, six students were chosen to represent the study body as spirit leaders. These students include Nathan Battaglia, Danielle Fuller, Jack Erwin, Joe Glassey, Charlie Halberg, and Anna Metzger.

All of these students are excited to take on this role and ignite passion in the rest of the students to support their peers in athletics, drama and other extracurricular activities. All of the newly selected leaders participate in a broad range of school activities. Battaglia writes for the school newspaper, Fuller was a part of the dance team as well as theater, Erwin and Halberg run track and Cross-Country, Glassey plays on the Lakes baseball team, and Metzger actively participates in the theater department. It is quite advantageous to such a variety of leaders as they will contribute support to all students at Lakes.

“I decided to become a royal rush leader because being a member of the royal rush is exhilarating as is, and now being a leader allows me to really get involved and help run events and games,” said Joe Glassey, one of the newly inducted leaders. “I am most looking forward to working with the new leaders and bring a new sense of energy to the Lakes community.” Glassey said.

“I want to be someone who unites the student body at Lakes.” said Danielle Fuller, another new inductee. “I am looking forward to creating new themes, leading the chants at games and running with the flag.” Fuller said.

As we will miss our seniors that led the crowd this school year, the prospects of the royal rush for the 2018-2019 school year look bright. We look forward to see all that they accomplish next year!
