Many Americans don’t understand the Tables, or better known as the standings and how they function in European football. The most simple way to understand the rankings is to get that done as a point system. The team at the end of the season is crowned the champion. For each win, a team is awarded 3 points, a tie is 1 point, and a loss is 0 points. However, the top four teams at the end of the season go on to compete in the champions league that is considered to be made up of only the elite, and is an honor to play in. In the champions league, the top four teams of each smaller leagues play each other for the European Cup. This is similar to playing the playoffs for the Super Bowl. However, not everyone can compete for the champions league. The three worst teams of each league are required to play in the second-best divisions of their league, while the top three teams of the second-best division are promoted to play. This keeps competition fair and entertaining.
In other news, the leader of the premier league in Liverpool makes a strong case for the European Cup, with their offensive threat being Mo Salah, a 5’9 forward, known for his ability to cross, open space, and score. Complementing Salah is their defender Nathernial Phillip, a 6’3 mountain. With these power players, Liverpool is a shoo-in.
