During the winter, people love watching holiday movies! Some favorites may include Elf, The Polar Express, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and many more. Here are a few upcoming movies that could be your new holiday favorite.

On November 11th, Spirited will be released in theaters and on Apple TV+. Collider reports that this movie is a “modern musical rendition of Charles Dickens’ classic holiday story, A Christmas Carol. Spirited is sure to make you laugh with Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrel as the lead actors. Ryan Reynolds will play the “Scrooge” of the movie while Will Ferrel is the Ghost of Christmas Present.

Coming to theaters on December 2nd is not your average Christmas movie: Violent Nights. Unlike your typical holly jolly Santa, this Santa can be extremely aggressive and is played by David Harbour. IMDB states Violent Nights is about “a team of elite mercenaries who break into a wealthy family’s house on Christmas Eve and take everyone hostage.” Santa Claus comes to rescue them, but “he’s about to show why this Nick is no saint.”  The movie is rated R for language and bloody violence, so view it with discretion.

Coming to Disney+ on November 25 is the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special. Although this isn’t technically a movie if you are one of the many Marvel fans you are sure to enjoy this! According to Disney, in this movie, “the Guardians are on a mission to make Christmas unforgettable for Peter Quill and head to Earth in search of the perfect present.” If this special is anything like the Guardians of the Galaxy movies, it is sure to be highly enjoyable and hilarious!

Have fun choosing what movies to watch this holiday season!
