Chicago Teams Take on Spring Training

Attention all MLB fans – opening day is almost here! With only a short 26 days left, you don’t have to wait to join in on all the excitement for your favorite Chicago teams. Currently, both teams are down in Arizona getting some practice games in against this year’s opposing teams. Even though the games are not televised, you can follow the teams on sports radios, Google’s play-by-play, or on the official MLB app.

The Chicago Cubs have ridden a roller coaster of games so far. With a total standing of 3-5, they are quickly rearranging line-ups to see which is best. However, for the Cubs, this standing may not seem as bad as fans would think. The team has a very green rotation and bullpen this season, not to mention having a new, first-time manager. Even though the team may not win as many games as fans hope this spring, these games will help the team establish a strong, united team for the upcoming season.

The Chicago White Sox, however, have had a slightly more successful spring, with a standing of 4-3. The team feels they have a pretty strong team, including new Sox player Luis Robert, who feels ready to take on the 2020 season and his Sox debut. They are not the only ones who predict the Sox will have a strong season- multiple sites claim the team will make “the top 5” of strongest teams this season. However, only time will tell.

March 26 is right around the corner…don’t forget to stay up to date on your favorite teams to get a preview of what the season ahead holds!
