2011, just as any other year was full with events. Starting off the year, on February 6, the Greenbay Packers won the Superbowl against the Pittsburgh Steelers with a close game of 31 to 25.  

Shortly after, in the month of March, Japan was struck with one of the most powerful earthquakes in history. The particular quake created chaos considering it caused a huge tsunami that resulted in significant damage to the Northeastern parts of Japan and roughly 20,000 people were killed. 

A few weeks later, on April 1, after protests regarding the burning of the Quran, in Mazar-i-Sharif, a mob attacked a United Nations compound killing 13 people. 8 of the 13 people killed were foreign workers.

Jumping forward to December 17, the North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Il died of a heart attack. Over the years people questioned his health, and there were times rumors that he was even dead. Before he died, he made arrangements to have his youngest son take his spot when the time came. In North Korea, the people worship their dictators as a much higher power. When Jim Jong-Il died the people there grieved and mourned his death. It was a very depressing time for North Korea.

Every year has its own ups and downs, and no year is going to be perfect. 2020 may have been a crazy year, but let’s see what 2021 has in store for us.
