Movie Review: Love, Simon

Rating a 92% on rotten tomatoes, Love, Simon is a must see this spring.

In Love, Simon, we are taken on a journey through the life of Simon Spier, who is just your average 17 year old, except for the fact that he is hiding one, huge secret from everyone who loves him. He’s gay.

In the romantic comedy, Love, Simon, we watch Simon journey through high school as a closeted gay student. It wasn’t until another student, going by the name of Blue, posted a story very similar to Simon’s, talking about the struggles he has faced. Simon begins to open up to Blue over Gmail, and they talk about specific experiences, such as when they first found out, or when and how to tell their families.

Simon had managed to keep his secret for a long time, until one day he forgot to log off a computer, which resulted in a classmate printing out his emails and using them as blackmail.

Throughout the rest of the movie we watch as Simon works hard to prevent his life from crashing down right before his eyes.

I would definitely recommend you see Love, Simon so you know how the story ends.
