Even though the high school lacrosse season has been over for a while, Dylan Behnke and the team have still been putting in the work for the upcoming one. Behnke has been preparing for this season by playing club all off season.“The Lakes team has been holding open gyms, lifts, and practices as well to get newer kids a look at what a normal day will look like” Behnkke said. The team seems to be holding their accountability in going to the lifts and open gyms and getting their work done to be ready and prepared for their season.

There has been a change on the team this year, including them getting a new coach named Ryan Stratch who used to coach at Prairie Ridge. “It will be a huge improvement for us to take another step forward. [The coach] brings lots of energy to this team and seems he will be able to get the best out of his talented roster,” said Behnke. It seems that the new coach may bring a new boost to the team and help them out to have an even better season than in the past years.

Not only does the team have a talented roster, there are going to be many key returners this year that will help bring this team to be successful. Some of these players include seniors Connor and Collin Swiderski, Kobe Brown, Reid Kuriger, and a few younger players like Sean Ryan and Phoenix Niesen. Many of these guys have already committed to play lacrosse in college (Division 1 and 2) and other guys are still in the recruiting process. They will play an important role throughout the season.

Dylan says they have big goals for this upcoming season. Along with the team, they are excited and hope to achieve a lot this season. “Obviously a state championship is at the top of our goals, but a conference championship at this point is an expectation,” Behnke says. The team has big hopes and they hope to achieve all of their goals for this upcoming season.
