Lockdown

Lockdown

I myself am getting tired if the only thing being talked about is the coronavirus. It’s a terrible time, and it required the nation, and the world to follow the rules that the government and CDC set for our safety. According to the Chicago Tribune,  “Gov. J.B. Pritzker has issued a “stay-at-home” order for the entire state starting at 5 p.m. Saturday through at least April 7, marking Illinois’ most aggressive step yet to try to slow the coronavirus’s spread.” With Illinois taking the first steps, it’ll require the other states to follow along and be proactive. This situation requires total cooperation from the public or else the spread will continue.

The generation of teenagers is the biggest issue. I myself struggled a lot the first few days of quarantine with following the rules all the way, as I continued to work, and see my friends. I continue to see teenagers in groups hanging out, while they should be staying inside. Teenagers aren’t the only ones to blame. Some spring break goers are going against the advisories and continuing to travel. This alone increases the ability of the virus to spread.

All in all, remember to stay and follow the rules, because the longer it takes our society to listen, the longer this lockdown will last.
