Senior Sadness

Kaylie Smith, Web Content Manager & Design Coach

Being a senior during the year 2020 while in college or high school, to say the least, sucks a lot. I myself being a senior, missing the part of the last months of my time in high school is saddening. This is the time I had planned on spending with my friends before going off to college. For all the students know, things like senior assassin, ABC countdown, senior night at Six Flags, graduation, and prom may all be affected.

Now, for the next 3-4 weeks, we’re all stuck inside our homes unable to see any of our friends. You’re only a senior in high school once. We can’t turn back the time, and we can’t do anything to make up lost memories. Most people will look back on the last things they did in high school, and remember all the fun times, the lack of stress after getting into college, or even just times spent with the others around them. Now, we’ll remember the Coronavirus.

It’s a very sad time for the world, people are sick and dying, the economy is falling apart, and for many, the world feels like it’s ending. I’m very thankful that the necessary precautions are being taken, but at the same time, I can’t help but feel saddened by the lost time.
