Girls Tennis has finished its season and the team is proud of their results.

Over the course of the season, the team achieved several big milestones that it had wanted to going into the season.

“Taking 4th place at the Vernon Hills Invite was our biggest achievement,” senior Ally Perdue said.

Overall, the team ended with a record of .500 in the North Suburban Conference. The team connected at more than just an athletic level as the girls connected as friends and enjoyed the company of their team members.

“Highlights of the season are always those moments when we all sing to the same song or joke around with the coaches,” senior Liana Lopez said.

Both Lopez and Perdue agree that the coaches deserve credit for the success of the team throughout the season.

“Through the drills that coach gave to us at practice most of us have started to hit with precision and power,” Lopez said.

Perdue also credited the coaches and the team members, who pushed each other to improve everyday throughout the season.

The team worked around the challenge of practicing with another team in the same location, as Antioch Community High School built their new courts in the complex of the existing Lakes Community High School making the complex a district-wide facility.

The addition of the new courts allowed for Lakes to host bigger tennis tournaments such as Sectionals for the Junior Varsity tennis teams.
The tennis team will be looking forward to another successful season next year with a number of returning students coming in hungry for renewed success.
