Movie Review: The Space Between Us

The Space Between Us is a loving story about a human baby that is borns on Mars. His mother was an astronaut who was unaware that she was pregnant when she left on a 9 month voyage to the training center on Mars. Sadly, she died during childbirth but gave birth to a baby boy named Gardner. Even though he is technically human, Gardner is a complete stranger to Earth and its customs. When he gets old enough, Gardner sets out on  journey back to Earth in search for his father. Along the way he meets a girl named Tulsa, who is orphaned and lives in a home for girls. When the two meet, they travel together across the country trying to reach California, where they believe Gardner’s father lives. Unfortunately, Gardner is suffering from heart failure as he is not used to Earth’s atmospheric pressure. During this trip, Gardner and Tulsa fall madly in love which becomes complicated when Gardner is dying in the hospital and needs to get back up into space to survive. I’ll spare the ending for those who don’t enjoy spoilers but this movie is perfect for a date, staying in with your family or friends, or just watching by yourself with some snacks. It is heartwarming and a unique story that will repeatedly leave you wondering what will happen next.
